Significant work has been undertaken by both the Taskforce set up in the wake of the closures, and of course by other individual stakeholders/partners, to help mitigate the impact of the liquidation by supporting those affected and by starting to build for the future.
nAs part of this continuing work the Taskforce are hosting an event “Tees Valley Together” on Monday 3rd of October 2016 which is partly a Jobs Fair and partly a place where people can come and see the support which is available to them to help them get a job or move on in their career. It is aimed at the wider Tees Valley Community, not just those affected by SSI.
nThe event will include employers with both current and future vacancies, self employment support, information on apprenticeships, training opportunities and wider support services ( for example, financial advice and advice on health and well-being).
nWe will also be using the event to launch several employment initiatives aimed at different sectors of our community such as young people, and older workers.
