During the next couple of years, Tees Valley Combined Authority will be given control of the Adult Education Budget, which is part of Government funding used to train local people age 19+ seeking to enter the workforce.
n
To make sure this important funding is used in a way that meets the recruitment and skills needs of local employers, the Combined Authority wants to hear your views about the funding of skills training, particularly for entry level / lower skilled jobs.
n
They’d like to understand how you currently recruit and train particularly for entry level jobs, any challenges you face in finding suitably skilled adults, your experiences (if any) of working with colleges and training providers, and how skills funding could be improved locally.
n
Hartlepool Borough Council is supporting the Combined Authority with this important research, and we’re encouraging our key employer partners to get involved. It would really help us and the Combined Authority to improve our support for employers if you could tell us your views.
n
The Combined Authority has appointed an independent research firm (New Skills Consulting) to undertake short telephone interviews to gather feedback from local employers. All interviews will be confidential.
n
If you would like to participate in this research, could you please contact Kerry Bray (T: 0191 223 6720; e: kerry@newskillsconsulting.co.uk) at New Skills Consulting to provide your contact details. New Skills will then get in touch with you to arrange a convenient time to talk.
