Little Inventors Pioneers

Makers from across the Tees Valley are invited to attend the Little Inventors Pioneers: Making the Future event on Thursday 19 March 2020, 4.30 - 6.30pm, hosted by MIMA, part of Teesside University.

Over 1,000 school children aged 8 - 12 from across the region have developed invention ideas that explore sustainable ways to produce, store and use energy across every aspect of our lives. 15 ideas by children from Tees Valley, Northumberland and Sunderland have been selected to be brought to life by skilled makers.

The event at MIMA will be an inspiring call out to Tees Valley makers from across all industries and sectors including craftspeople, artists, engineers, fabricators, architects, VR/AR/XR specialists, scientists (and anyone with creative making skills) to help turn the selected ideas into real or virtual objects for a major exhibition in Preston Park Museum, Stockton from 18 June - 23 August 2020.

Past Little Inventors creations have gone on to achieve national TV and press coverage, including five made objects taken into the V&A Museum's collection. Building on the incredible success of our North 2030 challenge for the Great Exhibition of the North, the Little Inventors team are delighted to deliver our latest initiative, Little Inventors Pioneers in the North East.

If you’d like to be involved in inspiring the next generation of innovative thinkers or find out more about future challenges, please join us at MIMA on Thursday 19 March.
