Employment Law Awareness for Managers, Team Leaders & Supervisors

Aims & Objectives

The aim of this one-day workshop is to equip participants with a general understanding of some of the key aspects of employment law which could present a problem when dealing with workers.  The workshop will include some theory, but its main focus will be to give practical examples of scenarios where issues could arise and when further investigation is required along with the steps employers should take.

At the end of this session learners will be able to:

  • Describe some of the key trends/behaviours in the labour market
  • Outline the legal implications to the organisation of not dealing fairly with issues
  • Describe some of the main issues which are likely to trigger problems in the workplace
  • Know how to respond when faced with issues and when to seek further support

  • Family Friendly legislation
  • The role of the manager/supervisor in managing absence
  • Employment legislation in relation to absence

  • Right to be Accompanied
  • Termination of Employment
