CITB is inviting bids for projects to create local, onsite training hubs to help address the complex challenges facing the construction industry in England.
CITB has a budget of up to £8.8m to cover at least 14 onsite hubs, in England, over a three-year period and will fund up to 70 per cent of the total value of the project.
Through 2019 and 2020 CITB aim to increase England’s construction talent pool by 50 per cent in specific occupations through onsite training hubs. CITB want to create a talent pipeline to meet the needs of local construction employers.
The projects are to focus on the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) areas that do not currently benefit from the Construction Skills Fund.
Proposals are welcomed from organisations that are:
- levy-registered employers who are have construction projects who are looking to employ locally
- federations and/or trade associations who are able to galvanise local construction projects to create a collaborative response
- construction clients and/or leaders of construction projects who want to support their supply partners to access the talent need to deliver high quality work
- training providers and/or training consultancies with strong relationships with construction projects who can galvanise support for an on-site hub.
As this is a competitive process, and the onsite hub is for the benefit of Tees Valley, to make it work, everyone needs to work collaboratively.
Organisations who are interested in getting involved, either as a lead or collaborator, are invited to attend a meeting on 31st July 2019 from 10:30am to 2:30pm at Wynyard Business Park, Wynyard Park House, Stockton-On-Tees, TS22 5TA.
Please e-mail sharon.bew@citb.co.uk if you would like to attend the meeting
